4. If you would like to configure your own settings, enter the settings for:
• IP Address: IP address you would like to use for your DVR.
• Subnet Mask: Subnet Mask of network.
• Default Gateway: IP address of your Gateway. Typically the IP address of
your router.
• Preferred/Alternate DNS Server: The preferred and alternate Domain
Name System (DNS) Server to be used with your DVR.
5. Click OK to save and exit the Network Settings menu.
SPECIAL NOTE:
If you use DHCP to automatically determine your IP settings, these
will displayed on the Network Status display page and the manual settings on the
General page will be greyed out and apply to the last manual settings applied. If
DHCP is ticked always use the IP settings on the Network Status page.
8.2 Configuring PPPoE Settings (option not applicable in the UK)
Your DVR also allows for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) access. To set
up PPPoE access:
1. Enter the Network Settings menu by clicking Menu > Setting > Network.
2. Select the General tab.
3. Set the IP address and subnet mask to 0, as shown in Figure 3. When the
PPPoE connection is successfully established, the IP address will be added
automatically.

4. Select the Advanced tab. This will take you to the advanced network
settings menu, shown in Figure 4.
